All Saints is a significant part of our Community with deep and meaningful relationships and interactions with groups, organisations and individuals
In addition to the prime role of Christian Life of Worship, Prayer, Reflection and pastoral care in addition to the major ceremonies through the 'Passage of Life' (such as Baptism, Funerals), All Saints Church Silkstone opens its door to reach out to people in other ways:
-
Concerts throughout the year…eg Christmas Concert including Old Silkstone Band, Local Vocals, Silkstone Common Ladies Choir
-
Home for Silkstone Heritage Group, a committed group researching the history and lineage of our villages. If you enjoy history its a great way to volunteer as there's a fascinating set of ongoing projects with a need for researchers to help trace relatives and events across time and create displays/exhibitions within the church. We get visitors from all over the world who really aprreciate this activity.
- Schools outreach… All Saints Church is used by our Primary schools for significant services and celebrations such as Easter and Christmas with both Clergy and lay-workers taking assemblies and running projects
-
Arts & Crafts, books and cake sales throughout the year plus barbeques and garden parties help raise much needed church funds in addition to charities such as MIND, Christian Aid and Kimbiliio Childrens Project. It provides a great opportunity aswell as raising money but also for the community to meet, share, catch up and enjoy meeting friends…. Old and new
-
